The beloved Terrier — loyal, enthusiastic, independent, intelligent, and even a little cheeky!
These pooches come in all shapes and sizes. You can get itty bitty Yorkshire Terriers, stocky Bull Terriers, giant Airedale Terriers, and loads more. While each kind of Terrier has its own set of characteristics and unique looks, they all share the same bubbly, smart, and playful personality.
You’ll rarely need to worry about your Terrier getting sick, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be cautious at all. Like all pedigrees, pure-bred Terriers can get poorly. Some common Terrier illnesses to keep an eye out for include:
Make sure your pooch is covered with the exact insurance they need. Choose one of our breed-specific plans at PetsOnMe today!

That all depends on what level of coverage you pick.
Our Accidental Plan gives the most basic level of cover, including select accidental injury treatment, prescribed medication, and third-party liability. Our Classic Plan gives you everything our Accidental Plan offers, plus select treatment for illnesses, hereditary disease cover, and cruciate ligament. Our Deluxe Plan gives the most coverage – you get all the above and even select dental treatments covered.
In terms of what's not covered, any pre-existing conditions that your pup had before the commencement date of your policy won't get covered.
If you go for our Accidental Plan, you get instant coverage. If you go for our Classic or Deluxe Pet Insurance Plans, you'll need to wait between 21 and 180 days. But, good news: if you've held an uninterrupted policy for 12 months or more with a different provider, we'll knock out our waiting periods and get you covered ASAP!
That's down to what your old pooch needs and how healthy they are. Our Accidental Plan gives you the least amount of cover, but it's our most affordable option. If you've got an elderly pooch with no health issues, go for it. But if they have some health problems, it's best to go for a more protective option like our Classic Plan or our Deluxe Plan.
You bet they are! Terriers are super hardy dogs. But, like any dog breed out there, they do have some health risks unique to them. Stay on the lookout for joint problems and eye issues — these can be avoided with special supplements, a healthy diet, and vet check-ups.
Terriers are pretty hardy pooches — you don't need to take them to the vet on a regular basis. Just remember to get them their jabs and parasite treatments (like deworming) when they are due. And if your Terrier is acting off and showing signs of illness or injury, get them seen by the vet pronto to catch any problems early and get them sorted sooner.
